The Bow-Tied Warrior

Eric is the “bow-tied warrior” according to USA Today columnist Byron Acohido, who put Eric on the front page of the Money section on June 26, 2007.  The story began under the headline, “Credit bureaus fight on state, federal levels against freezes”.

The 1,800-word article began: “Wearing his trademark bow tie, Eric Ellman goes to work every day prepared to explain why identity theft isn’t as big a threat as people think.” Beyond the hyperbole, the facts were far more nuanced. The nuance was largely lost in the story.

Eric was again profiled by Acohido in the book, “Zero Day Threat”.  It was here that Eric was referred to as the “bow-tied warrior” and a “seasoned lobby warrior”. The chapter went on: Eric is “always prepared for battle” and a “reliable combatant in the trenches for [his client]”.
